For chefs looking to join the honorable ranks of Worldchefs Certified Judges, attending a Pastry Arts Competition Seminar is a mandatory part of the process to become a certified judge in Pastry Arts. Participants are awarded a certificate of participation that can be submitted as one of the required credentials in an application. Meet your Seminar instructor

This seminar is taught by Kenny Kong –  an expert in Pastry Arts with numerous awards on the global stage, including being named best pastry chef of the year by the World Gourmet Summit Awards of Excellence in 2002, the best pastry chef award for excellence by Hospitality Asia Platinum Award in 2006, 2007, and the most stylistic pastry chef by Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Chef Kong started out more than 20 years ago as the Pastry Chef of the Singapore National Team that won gold medals in both the 8th FHA Int’l Salon Culinaire Food & Hotel Asia in 1992, and the IKA Olympic Frankfurt World Competition in 1992. Since 1994, Chef Kong has served as the coach and trainer of the Singapore Pastry National Team. Chef Kong has also sat on numerous judging panels in competitions around the world, including the 2013 Emirates Salon Culinaire, and the Chief Pastry Judge in the 2013 Hong Kong Hofex. A skilled teacher, Chef Kong has been awarded mentorship awards by the World Gourmet Summit Awards of Excellence and the At-Sunrice Global Chef Academy in Singapore.
